Long-term Visa
Serves as basis for obtaining residence permit. Allows stay in Portugal for more than a year, convenient if you plan long-term residence and want to obtain Portuguese citizenship in future. Visa processing through Portuguese consulate or VFS Global visa center.
Main Requirements
Monthly income from 3,440 EUR
Income verification through contracts, tax returns, and bank statements.
Account Balance
Sufficient funds to cover first year living expenses. Minimum amount is 9,000 EUR.
Criminal Record Certificate
Issued by competent authorities of the country of residence.
Health Insurance
Mandatory insurance covering basic medical services for the entire stay in Portugal.
Rental Agreement or Property Documents
Proof of accommodation in Portugal.
Individual Tax Number (NIF)
Required for financial operations.
Obtaining Visa for Family Members
Collective Application
Family members apply simultaneously with main applicant. After approval, they receive accompanying status and attend joint interview at AIMA.
Family Reunification
If main applicant already has residence permit status, family can join later entering on different visa. After arrival, need to register with AIMA and attend interview.
